About the Book

The Gunslinger marks the start of Roland Deschain’s journey along the Path of the Beam, where he hunts the man in black through a bleak, mysterious landscape. Roland’s pursuit is driven by a complex blend of personal purpose and the larger quest for the Dark Tower itself, a structure shrouded in mystery that seems to hold the fate of his world. This tale introduces Roland’s world and sets in motion the epic story that Stephen King would continue for over two decades.

Through stark, haunting prose, King draws readers into a blend of fantasy, western, and horror, creating a story of obsession, loyalty, and the search for meaning. The Gunslinger remains a foundational novel in King’s body of work, captivating fans with its atmosphere and unforgettable characters.
